Celebrating the largest free Folk Festival in the country, the Lowell Folk Festival, in collaboration with the Brush Gallery & Artists Studios, is pleased to announce the annual Art in the Courtyard, an art and fine craft component of the Lowell Folk Festival. This exciting collaboration provides visitors access to some of the finest art and craft works being produced. The Lowell Folk Festival enjoys over 100,000 visitors over the weekend.
Art in the Courtyard is held in the shaded, brick-lined courtyard conveniently located between the National Historical Park Visitor Center and the Brush Art Gallery and Studios. The courtyard is also adjacent to one of the main music and dance stages in the Festival. The artists tents provide a welcoming place, rain or shine.
One of the loveliest traditions of the Squam Art Workshops gatherings is a most enchanting extravaganza known as the SQUAM ART FAIR! This one-night-only event brings together some of the most talented artisans working today.
If you've never been to stART on the Street, the festival consists of 250+ artists and crafters displaying their items for sale in the center of Park Ave, some with tents. The festival route is lined with area businesses, stores and restaurants. The Highland Street end of the festival includes historic Elm Park with grassy areas perfect for picnicking. The Pleasant Street end of the festival includes a few youth activities area and interactive activities for all ages are mixed in throughout the whole festival. Stop and catch a demonstration - dance, fencing, ironwork, even hair art...they have it all!
